Plaza has long been a subject of literature, art and arthictecture as well as urban planning and design. Pubic life centers around this important, often symbolic, public realm. Whether they were created either by careful design or by uncoordinated process, this shared open space provides an opportunity for people to debate their societal character and destiny. Koreans now reexamine the meaning of Seoul Plaza to their life.
